Anyone come up with a decent rig for the 3-4" silversides/anchovies you catch while jigging? I'm sure some blues or Spanish would nail 'em...

Not really big enough for a Jackson rig so I was thinking of a bottom rig with a light wire hook through the lips a few feet off the bottom...even if it died it's still flutter around pretty good I think.

By the way in case anyone is curious, they look about the same but the anchovies are the ones with the huge mouth and die if you look at them wrong, silversides have a regular minnow like mouth and live a little better. There's your fun fact for the day.

those are bay anchovies. I have used them successfully as bait but they are one bait i would rather just use lures to imitate. They die easily and fragile on a hook. If you really want to, i guess u could try to find a medium gauge wire hook on a double hook bottom rig. Something like a crappie rig but with better hooks
