ok i was talked into buying a penn 535GS from a local B&T shop the reel is smooth as silk the only prob i have is adjusting the spool tension. its either so tight that i cant get but about 30yds or i turn it less than a 1/8th turn back and i get backlashed every time...now im very new to surf fishing but i have used baitcasters with and with out braking systems for years and never had this problem. is there just somthing im doing wrong with this reel in general or is there a centrifugal upgrade i can buy for it???i know prob nothing but getting used to it but this is getting old...oh and i guess this might come in handy to know i have the reel on a st croix 10' rated for 3/4-4oz thorwing 4oz and bait(spot head) and the reel is spooled with 17lb suffix titanium
another reel i have an option to buy is a blue yonder but i didnt like the spool capacity, and if i got duped on the buy of the penn 535 can anyone reccomend a good surf reel to go with my rod?
thanks for the help
