Hey Solid

I forgot to mention you better pick up a pair of Tommy's 6-10 Conventionals and get some serious practice time in so that you are not relegated to the "Dork Hole" and end up being some Kinnakeeteers "Bait snitch"......
Tommy hooked me up with the 6 and under... But we don't do that other heavy kind of casting around these parts. I do remember some sagacious fella did make note, that "only works in North Carolina".

"Bait snitch"? LOL

I missed class that day. :)

Skunk and AbuMike are running buddies.......... or they were at one time............or they fished next to each other once...........or I actually have no real recent information about Skunk since RD dropped him......

We thought Solid7 had leased out his IP address to Skunk King

Anyway Skunk does not fish the OBX Planks, He is a flea and most of them with few exceptions are allowed on the Planks....

Again another incorrect statement. He had his chance to fish with me at the tourny last year. Drove passed us, parked, called Bill and said who is there? Bill said me, Jason, Josh, Don and oh yeah Mike. SK said oh S#!t, I anin't coming back down there......

S7 we can bicker all day but DO NOT class me with him.....

I don't know...Bait Snitchn will getcha tossed over, maybe SK does need to start plankin.....Or change his handle to Possum and let Kenny have a go at him.....

I love the Tri+ but the Pro Spec does have my curiosity up. I feel a road trip in the works...

will be glad to have a drink with ya but don't think i will be fishing it this year...

Its Garbo

Gorbo sounds like some fat guy, who does not know how to fish, but since you know how to post photos on this board, hows about a photo of some Hooters chicks or something constructive along those lines.....

If Skunk King does show up on Avon and starts calling himself "Possum" DD will take him out...........DD's eyes glaze over when he sees a "Possum" turns the normally mild mannered DD into some kind of a Killer......Skid seen it with his own eyes...........Stone Cold......

Wow, I guess a simple yes or no would of been sufficient, Im thinking I probably will get a little more distance, I will spool up with some next time I change my line on my diawa 30 and let you know, thanks for all the replies, I wasnt trying to turn it into a science project but I should of known better on this board....tight lines................geo

"well a 9000 is alot bigger than a 30 ... guys with small poles need big reels "

My 9000's have caught a few, that is what the standard size was in 1980's 25 pound test, I do not recollect you being around in those days.....were you born yet?

As far as a small pole, I would reckon even fishing with the old 10'6" Surfsticks and an 8 ounce sinker I would out cast 99.9% of the competition, fishing with whatever they use there is something to be said for technique and timing throwing a Drum rod.

I would drop the line down to 20 pound test pro spec, but I think most folks do not realize that a loose 9000 can be competitive with any of the newer models..

I had one fall where I broke off at least ten Drum using 17 pound suffix and decided it was too weak to put any heat on the fish...which is why I do not recommend it for Drum and the wear and tear of that style of fishing..Stripers do not pull so hard so it fits the bill for the sissy fish..

by the 80's I was already an old man ... I was just crankin your chain ... I use two 7500's and a 30 .... I know Kenny used to like those bigger Abu's too back in the day ... for me I want 300 yrds of 20 lb for serious surffishin
