casting

I have 2 of these reels. They cast excellent. I usually use at least 5 oz of weight with a medium heavy rod.

 

I wouldnt think of a tidewater 30la as much of a casting reel from the beach. If it is the one im thinking of. But also some people like certian reels. Im a firm belever on use what you are comphy with, but in this case this reel is more of a boat reel I.M.H.O.

 

That reel was designed for Trolling and not casting. The only brake is the levelwind. They can be casted, but they were not designed to cast.

LMAO well wasn't going to put them into those words I.M.H.O. spend the lil extra money and get a slosh ,, great casting reel from the beach.
