I don't personally have the "Release Reel" in my possession. That having been said , it appears that they are a relatively recent release to the fishing community designed by a charter Capt. , and his mate. It seems they are made for charters, therefore made 'tough' and durable , and surprisingly strong for their size. Designed for pelagics.
The only online review that I have seen was out of Chesapeake angler.
The reel is CNC macined in China, the gears are stainless steel which are made in USA, as well as lubricant made in USA , with Japanese carbon drags.
Upon going to their website , much of it is still under construction. Reel availablily is pretty much limited to about 7 baitshops in Chesapeake / Virginia area.
In summary , it is a small sized, commercially heavy-duty reel, moderately priced , and designed for boat usage.
