Hi, was wondering how the fishing was on the York River. Had some friends talking about going. I'm mainly a shore/pier type fisherman. Are there any public piers for this river, where are the hot spots on shore? And, finally, what type of fish are normally caught. thanks for any info.

No public piers any more. The Colonial Parkway does offer access. Ijust have not been in a couple of weeks to let you know what is going on.

I've been fishing along the Parkway recently, three times last week, waiting for Yorktown Rock Jetties to re-open. I've seen / caught stripers, spot, croaker, flounder and small speckled trout.

Although then I just went out of town for a couple days and have come home to a cold front so I don't know what's going on down there now.
