Nice fish. I finally got out awhile yesterday, caught a bunch of fish and was able to bring home a limit. They have been feeding very heavily on minnows and mostly on bluegill minnows. They eat small bluegills like a kid eats potato chips! Gave them a hot oil bath tonight and had them with corn bread.

Andy, I wrote a small article on yellow perch fishing on the blog of my website. If you are interested, take a look and provide comments. Don't know what happened to the formatting so it just reads straight through.

Sorry Jerry, no way I could read all that. Fishing is not that complicated. Just remember when and were you caught them. I don't watch fishing shows either. I do like yours and Tommy's videos. Nice catch Jerry.

I am getting ready to get some yellow perch in a little while. I only have about two Hrs. to fish. Pat and I have to go to Doctor this morning. Going to give it a shot. Great weather for fishing from shore. Soon as it get light outside, I'm out of here.

Way to go guys. I only wish I lived closer to the spawning grounds and not the fishing shows. Lol.

Jerry, Never knew you had a fishing blog. Look forward to reading. You always have tips to share. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Don, the web site is not much of anything at all, but I do cover how to tie the dropper rig along with an illustration and also discuss the spring and early summer fishing on the Susquehanna. As side note, I use the same knot with 40 lb. mono to tie on a jig and dropper fly combo for summer and fall rockfish.

Jerry, Thank you for posting your blog. As expected, it contained a lot of usefully information.

Regarding YP. What's the typical water temp at which they begin to school in the deeper water and are we at this point now? Also, How’s the boat ramp at Jean Roberts park these days? The last time I was there it had a deep drop off at the end of the ramp.

Perch seem to be pretty much scattered from shallow to mid depths. I was catching fish in from around 4-6 feet down to at least 30 or so. Boats seemed to be working near shore to intermediate depths as well. I haven't been to the JR Park this year so I don't know its condition but the last time I was there several years ago, there was a lot of rubble that would have been really bad on a super low tide. Best bet is probably the HDG basin ramp. Don't know if you saw it or not, but there is an illustration of how to tie the double drop shot rig in one of the photo albums.
