At this point in the season it will be hit or miss, but the area at the mouth of College Creek is a good bet for a bunch of different species. Now you might encounter Blue and Channel Cat's, Croaker, White Perch, eels, and the occaisional Shad or Striper. I think your best bait would be bloodworms or cut bait. I like the outgoing tide, a little distance down the sand bar towards the main river. The channel in the creek is swift and deep, so be prepared for a few snags. In summer, you can catch just about anything there..... Good luck!!

I talked with a fellah at College Creek last Thursday (3.13) and he'd gotten a few catfish up there.

Now, today, I got to take a boat trip up the James River, and we dropped cut bait and shrimp and got about 8 catfish ... several were 4 lbs, I'm guessing.

So there are some fish in there already.
