It's a big ocean. Most of the species aren't spending significant time in the runoff anyway. I have seen runoff muddy the water to the point the fishing sucks especially at 2nd Ave Pier, but it's not from the bacteria. It's not like this is a new development. Wither's Swash is known for being disgusting.

Cook your fish until done, and you should be fine. I doubt there is much testing that can be done by DHEC anyway.

For those who haven't seen there is a long term swimming advisory due to bacteria levels along almost all of Myrtle Beach and most of Surfside.

if i was worried about bacteria i would have stopped eating a long time ago. Have you ever worked in the food industry or visited a farm?

Have worked in the refrigeration field for 30+ years. The stuff you see on the cooks line would curl your hair. Bathroom breaks and no washing hands to cig smokers and no washing either. I was working on a small cooler at the cooks line when a chicken wing was dropped onto the floor ( a rubber mat ) and threw back into the fryer. 10 seconds later into the basket and out to a hungry customer. By law that was legal.............. I LOVE HOME COOKED MEALS!!!!!!!
