Read a article about using a wiffle ball sinker to keep from getting snagged as often. They suggested to cut a slice in the ball and insert some sinkers and even a sponge if you wanted to add scent, then push or pull a 1 oz. bank sinker through one of the holes with the ring of the sinker sticking out of the ball, use a 6-8 '' line from the sinker to a sinker slide on your running line, like a drum rig. It may not cast the greatest but short casts in rough areas it may work well. I'll probably mess with one in the future, I never heard of this, thought it was pretty clever, maybe someone here has already tried one?? Happy Thanksgiving to all and God bless.

....OK, I'll admit, I googled "wiffle ball sinker" to learn a bit more about it. All I found were dozens of sites on how to throw a wiffle ball sinker!!

Actually, I can see where it might work drifting over artificial reef junk (sorry, that's a boat thing), or tog fishing jetty rocks and such.

Now, back to that search......

Wow almost 5 yrs. ago since I posted that. I have made many of these and used them at the New River Inlet, NC, caught flounder, spanish, puppy drum, lizard fish, blues, they worked well, real happy with them.
