They are a excellent pice of gear, I picked up one on close out. Though it was great and went back to get the other 3. Sold one to a fishing bud, gave the others to my son's. Best part is not having to fight with those loose flying hooks. Well worth having

I just took an old 6.5 foot cheapo rod that had some busted guides and knocked all the guides down to the bases and strapped some 3/4 PEX PVC pipe to it, with the guide bases supporting the PVC. I heated up the end of the PVC and flared it out a bit to make the rig slide in easier. Works pretty well - I can even cast it a little ways in the surf.

I absolutely F-ing hate sabiki rods. Jollymon will tell you how ill i speak of them. Had one for about a month and sold it at a loss.
Sabikis are one and done for me. Usually missing hooks and frayed after a couple hours catching bottom bait and snagging fat back.

Ditto. I found a brand at Gander Mtn that is 3 rigs for 1.99. I hate the damn things but they work. I use them in the surf for bait and letting the kids catch sea rats. I will use them till all the hooks are gone and toss the rest with the cut line for the day.
I to use the rigs once, But we're talking about the rods, There's no better way to deal with 6 or 8 flailing hooks then to reel them in to a sabiki rods (tube)

C'mon. Once youve dug a half dozen or so sabiki hooks out of your Tshirt it gets easier each time. I, for one, welcome the challenge.

F-350 please give details of the problems you had with the rod? My big problem with sabikis is wind blown tangles and tourists just walking into them when they are setting in my rod cart, just looking for a way to avoid these 2 scenarios and still catch bait. thanks
