For the last 15 years (missed a couple) I have been headed to Hatters in mid to late September. Seems every year i have huge expectations to catch tons of fish and most years its just okay, or i get chased out by a storm. I know weather is always a factor this time a year, but going further south (emerald, bald head, oak) are they less weather effected during storms. Is surf fishing comparable on any of those to Hatteras. I'm accustom to the Hatters laid back lifestyle and that's one of the biggest draws that keeps me going back so i don't know that a commercial area i would enjoy. i like my 50 yrs of beach front both ways. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

kinda have to follow the migration of the fish you are targeting ... further south you go the later the fish will be there
