For those of you that put in at Crab Creek over by Lesner Bridge (Lynnhaven)...

Does live bait seem to work better for you than frozen?
Where do you usually cast for baitfish?
How large of a cast net do you use?
How long do you typically spend casting before starting the real fishing? :fishing:

Just curious. I'll be down there this Friday evening/Saturday and was debating whether it's worth it to get a cast net vs. buying bait fresh or frozen from the shop...

Thanks,

fri fishing

Hey Man,

When are you putting in, I will be there Fri afternoon into the dark. Fresh bait is the trick. Let me know I can help you with the bait thing.

You can usually find all the bait you want right on top of the big sand bar that's just outside the mouth of Crab Creek when you turn left/east. If not look in the creek mouths just to the right/west there's usually bait in there as well.

Thanks guys. That's pretty much where we were thinking of trying based on what we've seen others doing in the past.

What size bait is producing now? I suppose any large ones you can keep and cut to size, but how small is too small?

We'll be putting in around 3:30 to 4pm on Friday using a red canoe. If we see anyone we'll give a holler.
