Had one of the most strange things happen to us today while surf fishing on Assateague Island. We had caught only a few small things and one skate when something hit hard. It hit a piece of large cut bait on a 7/0 hook about 120 yards out. I was using a 12' rod with conventional reel that holds about 350 yards of the 25 lb. line on it. I was spoiled in about 40 seconds. This thing didn't swim parallel to the beach, but went almost straight out. It never slowed, shook or turned and none of us ever saw a thing.

I saw a shark do that off the pier at Moorehead city last week.

Had the same thing happen today in Nj slinging metal to albies. Buddy hooked up and the first headed for England. There was no stopping it.

Happened to us quite a few times in FL. We use to say to the snow birds when it happened to them. You got spooled partner. LOL!
