Hi;
Will be up to soak some lines in a few weeks. Plan on fishing Avon pier as it will be fairly close to where we will be staying. I would still like to get some week day evening surf fishing (with license) in as well and do not want to hassle with beach driving permit. Was looking at an aerial map for parking along the road near the beach. I understand and see that Cape Hatteras Pier washed out. Looking on Salt Chef's aerial map it appears that some of the pier is left as well as a parking lot. I would assume the pier would be off limits due to safety.
Are there any restrictions for this parking lot? Looks like it would put us fairly close to the water.
Hate to sound so ignorant about OBX but the last time I was there was 55 years ago and all I remember was clean water, big waves, and food poisoning from oyster soup.
