Hello everyone. I will be heading down to topsail next weekend and planning to do some fishing. My question is what if anything is biting. I will be plugging the surf and chunking bait. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Night fishing is all i plan to do. I will be with the family for a weekend getaway and i usually do the beach during the day and fish at night. No flounder around? Maybe some specs? I don't mind bait fishing but it gets a little boring. I would much rather be throwing plugs or tins.
I cant wait. Its been about 4 yrs since i have been down. Last time i was there it was july and my son and i caught about 200 skates. That was all that would bite. Im really looking forward to getting some puppy drum and maybe a bull. How big do drum need to be to keep. What would be a good arsenal. I was going to use bucktail w/ swimming mullet trailer, mirrolure, bombers, some tins, and gotcha plugs. Doyou guys recommend anything else?
Thanks for the size and limit info. I didn't see anything for whiting or pompano,( not to say it's not there), anyone know the limits and size of these 2 fish?, thanks.
Thank you greg12345, the only pompano I've ever caught were with my throw net, little guys a couple inches long, kind of a cool fish, smooth as silk, my granddaughters always loved seeing them too. Yes one would think a size limit would be enforced for both whiting and pomps, I'm sure it will happen, unfortunately there are more rules than common sense these days, thanks again.
