not just the bug "spray" but some Avon "Skin-so-Soft" (Original) mixed with water in a pump spray bottle.
the "Teeth" a/k/a "No-Seeums" or "Mi-Mi" will eat what the skeeters leave behind. Available online or at your local drug stores and pharmacies. (CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens, WalMart, Amazon, etc).
I use about 2oz of S.S.S. in 12-16oz of water and maybe one or two drops of Dawn dish soap to help keep the oil in solution. Shake vigorusly often. The idea is to get the Avon oil into your hair, on your face, neck, and arms. Just sweet smelling water with no oil doesn't add much of a deterrent - the oil does. . Oh, try to keep the sweet smelling oil off your tackle and bait.
