I made it to both Piers in Panama City, County Pier A.K.A. Dan Russell seems to be a bit better run and has restrooms half way out it's 1500ft length both had friendly and helpful people in the Tackle Shops. no Shark fishing during daylight,no shade, No regulars fishing to Q&A,
Moved on to Oskaloosa Pier, in Ft. Walton Beach. a bit over 1500ft.( I was told) Restrooms, vending machines,Shade on the end. The fellas fishing weren't doing much. Tackle Shop/Pier shop
seemed up to the task,They told me fishing starts to pickup in a few more weeks. No Shark fishing allowed.
Next was Navarre Beach Pier, not sure how long the nice Lady at pier house said it was the longest on the Gulf (1565ft. sticks in my mind) Same as the others,No catching, But what was happening at the end was Very Hardcore Sharking . Reels of the 16/0 Size, Bait was a half a large Ray. They have a sm. boat ,more like a half a kayak that“s remote controled.
They would lower the bait on to it then run it out ,when you thought it was far enough you just pull it as the boat keeps going and the bait drops off the back.Repeat till everyone has a bait out and wait.
I wanted to get to Gulf Shores State Park Pier but ran out of time,So I'll have to get it next trip
Will hold off making a pick till later
