We kept on moving away from the pier until we found a spot they were in.
The pier isn't necessarily a bad spot. Of my 3 outings there, it was the only spot fish were being caught. Try in and around the bridge pilings depending on which way the piling is blocking out the current. Anytime I am bottom fishing, I will move after 15-20 minutes of no hits if access allows me to.

Waysons corner is where Route 4 crosses the patuxent river, and the address is roughly "1589 Southren Maryland Blvd Lothian, MD 20711". The dock is at the end of malboro road, and from my memory it's freshwater but I vaugly remember hearing about someone catching crab there. Also it looked packed today from route 4 (20-25 cars) as I passed on the way back from shark tooth hunting the calvert cliffs.

20-25 cars on a weekday? Usually 3 dozen+ on weekends. The water is def mostly fresh, but keep in mind MD does tidal vs non-tidal instead of fresh/salt. Yes, the yellow perch do run through there, but I quick going there now that I have spots to myself on the eastern shore.
