Today, I spent the day at my favorite frestwater fishing hole, Waysons Corner. On this beautiful day, this report is not about me. I met a new angler buddy today, John. On his kayak he explored the Waysons wetland and picked several yellow perch with the biggest being almost 12". The reason why his catch was significant today is because out of the 50 anglers fishing today, he was one of the very few that caught anything. Ninty eight percent of the anglers, includung myself, went home skunked without even a "bit". Great job John, I have to get a kayak .

I hear you. Get a kayak. Way better fishing in a boat. A lot harder to find fish from shore. If I was younger/healthier I would have a kayak, or some kind of boat. Go for it Jamaican Fisher. Nice perch!!

Do it.
Welcome to the Plastic Navy.
With a kayak, a place like Waysons is perfect.
You can get a cheapie at Dick's for a couple hundred, or spend a couple grand, and get a pedal Hobie, and anywhere in between.
My advice is to try before you buy...rent a couple for a couple of hours etc...it isn't for everybody, and might as well find out early on...if you know what I mean.
Don't cheap our in the life jacket, and other safety gear departement, especially in cold water...it'll hurt ya.

JF, if you're serious about a kayak, when the water warms up, I would venture down to Annapolis Canoe and Kayak.
They will basically coach you through the process..let you try a couple of different models in the creek right behind their shop.
They will rent you a boat, and take the rental cost off the price of the boat.
I am not affiliated with them, just bought from them twice, and was treated right, and have sent others there, and they were treated well also.
