Got there around 0700 and surprisingly I was able to get a spot on the pier. Caught 16 smaller White Perch, 3 Cats, and a huge Carp. Carp probably pushed 20lbs. Hate those things. Was targeting Yellow Perch but only caught one small one that I had to release and saw only one keeper Yellow Perch all day. Was nice to get out but was a little disappointed I didn't catch more Yellow Perch. Should be getting real good down there soon.

White perch already. Man they are early this year in shallow water. IMO. I felt really cold this morning. Too cold. Caught two crappie and released them. Sat in truck with heater on most of the time I was out.

Long fish looks like some kind of shad. Maybe a striper but hard to tell without seeing the head

Single (visible) dorsal fin and coloration makes me think hickory shad. Like pajiggin said, hard to be certain without seeing the head. Hope Im wrong as last i checked, you cant keep them.

what's the bait of choice down at Waysons? Is this considered freshwater?

Hard to tell what it is because of the other fish over the top of it but I don't think it is a shad and it is not a striper. The fins look a lot like a "fall fish" or maybe a sucker but I don't think they would be in that location. Keeping shad is certainly a no no.

Cats were super small. Probably like 8 inches. Cats and all other fish were caught with crawlers.
