Check your local Walmarts. The ones around here have boating and fishing stuff on sale, some marked down to almost half price. They have some reels, mostly mono or flouro lines, hooks and other stuff. They also have dock ropes, anchor lines and bow and stern lights on sale. I picked up a spool of 12 lb. flouro and a bulk spool of 40 lb. mono for leader, a 150' spool of 3/8' nylon anchor rope and several boxes of 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0 loose hooks to make dropper flies.

You're welcome Andy. Can't vouch for your local store, but these had some good buys on what was marked down. Some Quantum reels probably about a size 25 or 30 down from $99 to $49, etc.

The Manassas Walmart had spider wire, and many braids for $5.00 each. Picked up a knife, pliers, scale kit for $7 too

Local one in Abingdon had a bunch of hooks marked down to $0.50 a pack the other day. six pack Gamakatsu circle hooks, weighted and un-weighted 3/0 fluke or worm hooks. Some Eagle Claw long shanks 50 count box, etc. Got two boxes of 85 count red Eagle Claw hook assortment for $0.10 each. Got a medium Plano tackle bag with four boxes for $13.00. It had been $26.99. Also had anchor rope and dock lines on sale for very good prices.
