I accidentally made a cast with my BG 30 with the clicker on. Have I done any damage to the reel?
That brings up an interesting question . . .Unlikely that a one time event will damage the clicker dog or the ratchet on the spool end. Potential for damage is more likely on the click spring which tends to get worn more rapidly if the clicker is fished on all the time, I.e. while fighting fish...
I did the same with both my BG30s and burned up the clickers. Its an easy fix.I accidentally made a cast with my BG 30 with the clicker on. Have I done any damage to the reel?
NopeThat brings up an interesting question . . .
When I store my tackle, I back the drags off all the way and engage to clicker to keep line from coming off the spool and making a tangled mess.
Does leaving the clicker engaged all the time, while rods are stored, weaken or fatigue the spring ?
I'm glad to hear that . . . Thanks !Nope
OR you could tape your lineThat brings up an interesting question . . .

I just might start doing that . . . Maybe use something like blue Painter's Tape to avoid sticky residue on the line?OR you could tape your line
