Tybee mid July questions

I have gone and read through as many of the old tybee island threads that I can find. I still have questions about fishing it.
1) how is the fishing on the backside of the island?
2) what kind of gear should I bring for surf fishing (yes that is VERY generalized but I have almost every combination from light weight inshore/pier to hatteras heavens) aka what can I expect
3) are there any good places to looks for reports on tybee fishing online?
4) I am planing on brining my yak with. Good idea? where are some good launch sites?
5) saw something about not liking to have shark fishing around the island...how strict are they on this? If I am using a heavy drum rig and just "happen" hook into a biter am I going to get busted?
6) any need to yak out baits?
7) are the tarpon going to be around or is it to early? Any good guides that are really good with them. I want to finally knock it off my list?
8) are they doing beach reconstruction this year or are we safe for a couple more months?

I know it's a lot answer any or all your help is much appreciated!!!!

My opinion. July is HOT. Water temps are HOT. Overall fishing is not so good.

1) how is the fishing on the backside of the island? Back River Pier..........expect small Whiting, many rays, and small new born Black Tip sharks. Crabbing might be good.

3) are there any good places to looks for reports on tybee fishing online?

4) I am planing on brining my yak with. Good idea? where are some good launch sites? Yes. Back River, a place called Ally Three. From there you can get to places that hold Trout, Reds, and Flounder. Go early, its HOT, I mean before sunrise. Trout on top water at dawn. Small feeder creeks for Flounder. Reds will be scattered.

5) saw something about not liking to have shark fishing around the island...how strict are they on this? If I am using a heavy drum rig and just "happen" hook into a biter am I going to get busted? Low profile is the key here. Yes, officially its against city ordinance to "target" sharks. Casted gear only, be cool, low profile. Don't sweat it. Don't make a seen and the law will look the other way. They have bigger issues to deal with.

6) any need to yak out baits? Yes, but don't because it will bring unneeded attention. Casted baits only.

7) are the tarpon going to be around or is it to early? Any good guides that are really good with them. I want to finally knock it off my list? Yes, they should be around by then. Look up Big Fish Charters out of Lazzarato Creek, ask for Nick. He can all so help you with local surf fishing if ya ask him nicely.

8) are they doing beach reconstruction this year or are we safe for a couple more months? They do that in the winter, no worries.

Thank you my good sir. A wealth of information. The trout, reds and flat fish that time of year: live bait or artificial (jerks and spoons?)

Mud minnows for Flounder, live shrimp for Trout, anything for Reds.

I like to use Gulp swimming Mullet and/or DOA shrimp for artificials.
