Winds and work kept me off the beach this past week but I was able to get in a good day on 4/2. As soon as the monsoon style rains ended I headed to the beach with high hopes. Despite big effort on my part I only got small results. Guess the strong storm or the influx of fresh water shut things down. Fished the last of the outgoing all the way up to the first of the outgoing. Man, twenty plus knot winds out of the west made my casting look impressive. I know I had to be reaching the hundred thirty yard range on some casts, it felt good to really sling um' out there.

The slim tally: one short Sharpie, half dozen dink Whiting, one saucer sized Atlantic Ray, and one little pup shark which I found unusual for this time a year.

Water felt good, current not to bad out of the south and temp is now a solid 66-67 degrees. Fishing should improve real soon. I hope so cuz I'm gonna grill up my last bag of Pompano for supper tonight.

From my experience I have found it usually takes a day or two after a front for things to calm down and the fish to adjust.
