I'd be very surprised to see a trophy caught from shore this season. A friend of mine and his wife and daughter did score a 47", a 45" & a 40" trolling from his boat off of Chesapeake Beach opening day. All were pre spawn females and released. If it wasn't for the charter boats trying to earn a living I'd love to see the rock fish season begin May 15th to allow those big females to spawn.

Couldn't agree more Catman! :(

Seen way too many 40 and 50" breeders being killed on their way back down the bay by trollers with planer boards out in the channels on the DNR website.

I myself fished SPSP this am for 4 hours. WP and dinks tore up my giant BW's from All About Bait in GB. A very unproductive outing with a 20 mph south wind in my face.

Forgot to mention in my earlier post - thanks to the slobs who left all their plastic bags and trash on the beach at SPSP. You also left a full bag of very alive bloods and 2 perfectly good alewives. Both of which I promptly put to good use. :)
