1999 90HP Yamaha 2 stroke

My last time out, accidentally left the depth finder on. 2 weeks later realized the battery was dead. Got the battery problem fixed, everything including the motor runs fine, except the trim/tilt function. It just makes a "click" noise whe. I press it. I'm thinking hydraulic fluid needs replaced, but have no clue how. Looked at manual and the only trouble shooting it has was the pressure release valve to manually lift the engine. Any advice would be much appreciated

Is it up or down? If it's up there is a release valve on the side you need a large flathead screwdriver to release and it will go down. Used to have one that would get stuck all the time if trimmed all the way up. Never had one that leaked, not saying it's not a possibility but can't tell you how to fill it with fluid. there's a small motor that operates it you may need to replace.
