I wanted to go out fishing for Tog. This would be my first time fishing for them. I know the CBBT is a great area for them, but where are some other places to target them? Anywhere from the JRB to the CBBT would be the area I would target.

Also any suggested rig setup would be helpful.

From a boat, these are the spots that I know of:

Most likely to catch: CBBT, Back River Reef, ODU reef

May catch some but will probably have to work hard at it: rocks of MMBT, Middle Ground Reef, rocks of Ft Wool, Thimble Shoals Light

Here is a good standard rig: http://www.angling-addict.com/2011/04/tautog-rig.html

From shore, I have heard of them being caught at "the wall" at Lynnhaven and occasionally the pier at FT Monroe.

Good luck!

CBBT Catwalk has a good number of togs. You can use fiddler crabs on a single hook rig with a bank sinker. Live fiddler is the best of course. You could also use whole shrimp with heads they work great and get instant bite.
