Yesterday I went down to the o b x pier and walked to the end with my wife. It felt good as it was the first time since June. I had a stroke last June and I have pretty much stayed home since then. It wasn't a bad one but it scared the hell out of me.
I just checked my bait situation in the garage freezer and I have a couple nice "rigged" tuna heads waiting! As terminator says "I'll be back]!

Dear Sharkman,

Good that you have your sights set on getting bowed up again. Best Rehab I am aware of is having something large taking drag.

Sharks are on the rebound and with no one killing them the Sandbars are acting like Cape Point belongs to them and them only, it is like they want it renamed to Cape Shark.

Drum are reticent about showing up at the Point due to an unnerving uneasiness about getting chomped in half.

Solution in the old days was to have Crazy Ed come down and get busy with his 16/0.

Evidently there are some White Sharks around the OBX at this time, looking for seals perhaps.

Funny thing is the seals have not made a showing at Cape Point this winter, or maybe they did and the Sandbars took them all out before they reached landfall.

Sorry to hear that sharkman, but glad to see you are recovering. I do not know how I would react to something that serious. I still walk around thinking I am a bulletproof 18 year old. Glad you are getting out and enjoying the salt. Something about that is healing in and of itself.
If needed, when it gets warm I will yak out some baits for you.
Or Garbo can pendulum a whole tuna head past the second bar and let one of those whites take it?

Garbo cannot pendulum a Tuna head, too heavy, there are weight restrictions to pendulum cast especially with Garbo at the helm.

Sharkman need a Yak operator to step up to the plate and ferry the head out, there are plenty of Sharks out right now and a full wetsuit is necessary, water at the Point is in the mid to high 50's after a SW wind.

Point area is really shallow at this time, so the Yak has to travel out some distance 800 yards at least to get into White Shark territory.

Crazy Ed had his Zodiac and two 16/0's stolen from in front of his house some years back, like a lot of years, it was actually the last time he and I spoke, otherwise I am sure Ed would help his old friend Sharkman out.

Hopefully whoever stole Crazy Ed's rig met an untimely and painful end, I know if Ed had caught them that is how it would have gone down. Crazy Ed was a 1% Biker and always dressed the part. Engineer Boots-Jeans-Harley Shirt-Buck Knife-Biker Scowl on lips.

NC Sharkman,
As an active 'bulletproof' 43 year old, I recently experienced my first internal health scare followed by a long lasting 4 month virus (EBV/Mono) from which I am still recovering. I know others deal with much worse, especially cardiac and cancer scares. However, several months of wondering what was wrong and if I would ever recover led to my first experiences with anxiety and depression. I do not doubt that my first trip to Hatteras in 2017 will be the most healing for me. Stay positive and look toward an enjoyable future when your life will be back on track. Sounds like your healing process is underway.
Best of luck to you.
