Used to find an unbelievable number of bottom rigs at radio island on the rock jetty in morehead at low tide. Rigs would generally be rusted out but I would always salvage the lead weights.

used to find that stuff in dec. around oregon inlet..usually on limbs that had washed down the inlet....we called them Christmas Trees
