With C&R in the Bay right around the corner, just got some encouraging reports(and pics) from dudes at work jigging out of their skiffs down by Calvert Cliffs the last 2 weeks.

Several 50" grade of fish coming on BKD's jigged near the bottom. Won't be long now!! :fishing:

Hey, kurazy....ran across a thread about your pending trip to montauk....that was a really great read. Hope you arnd your girlfriend are doing well.
Thank you sir. There is a lot of good info in that thread for sure. We didn't end up going, our room got canceled out from under us a few weeks in advance and we couldn't find anything within our budget by then. Hopefully this season I/we can make it up there.

Calvert Cliffs bite has been going on for at least a month. That place is become the BB sewer pipe of the winter- dozens of boats every weekend.
it's at the power plant though right? that water is significantly warmer. hell in VA on 4 mile run you can fish at teh water treatment plant and catch anything and everything including tilapia and even goldfish pushing close to a pound.

Exactly. There are fish there every winter. I know someone who probably released a potential state record there recently.

Hey guys just remember that the reason for the C&R season is to protect the brood stock. Many of us don't fish that season for that very reason and that's our choice. For those that choose to do so please treat them gently when caught. For those photo opps remember to cradle her so she's not vertical. Her internal organs weren't meant to be in that position. If at all possible try to release her while she's still in the water. You can still get a measurement. Have fun and above all protect future generations of one of our Maryland treasures. Thanks guys. See you after the C&R season.
