Planning a trip with family down to Holden Beach this year for Thanksgiving and wanted to get any possible feedback on the typical surf fishing expectations for that time of year. Typically my father-in-law and I fish in the surf towards the west end. I read in previous threads that you folks recommended hitting up the east end.

Any additional tips for that particular time of year? Also noticed the comment related to increased flounder bite that time of year, what other species are likely to be running around the east end?

Look forward to any and lol feddback related to this topic.

Thanks!

Depends a lot on the water temps and conditions, and if we have another storm hit the coast. Haven't been down there fishing that late in several years, but the I've seen some great Spot runs the week before Thanksgiving. Croaker, whiting and drums will still be around. Blues, Spanish and Pomps will likely have moved South already unless the water stays above 70. I don't often target Flounder, but the season for them closes on October 16 this year.
