Season opened the 20th, but the fishing won't be hot for them til the.water temps drop below 60. Mid 40s to 50s is prime. They are around now, it's just hard to get bait past the little stealers before the tog gets it. I'm going to fish the concrete ships tomorrow & plan to drop a line or two for them when the current is too slack for flounder drifting.
Didn't do any good on togs at the ships Sunday. Tons of big toads, baby sea bass, a few nice size croaker full of roe, and 6 or 8 roundheads between 4 people fishing. I have seen reports on other pages of nice tog caught the past couple days at the CBBT, so I think it's game on!
