On vacation in couple weeks, asking for a great beach spot to take my son, so we can do some surf fishing. Want to get out early , try to miss crowds. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Take a look at Rudee or Lynnhaven inlets, limited beach but if you go early you should be okay. No bait or tackle so bring your own.

Sandbridge from the first city owned parking lot by the market at the north end all the way down to the Little Island City Park at the south end. Again if you go early no worries about crowds, especially during the week. There's a pier at Little Island that fishes okay too and they have bait, tackle, etc. like any other pier.

You can go a little further south past the Little Island Park into the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge which is a Federal Wildlife Refuge, it is for fishing only, $ 5.00/day or $ 15.00/year to enter but parking is free, again no bait or tackle so bring your own.

There is also a city owned pier at 13th/14th street on the oceanfront on Atlantic Ave. and they have everything to fish with too but again get there early.

Hope this helps to have a great day fishing with your son !!
