I am interested in doing some surf fishing up my way this year but know absolutely nothing about this area, shortest way to get to the beach, beach/4x4 access/permits, fishing license, when to go and places to stay, did I miss anything? I live in NOVA and have been doing all of my surf fishing on the OBX and been thinking about adding on some more surf fishing trips without adding so many miles on the wheels. I was wondering if any of you could get me started in the right direction? For the comedians on the board, I know, I will need to travel east. LOL that much I know, so what do you say, do you all have room on them beaches for one more surf fisherman? :D

If you want ocean surf fishing, there's is Assateague Island, some nice beach access in Delaware. Between the end of March and late May early June, I'm at AI at least once (sometimes twice) a week, and if interested, let me know when you'll be up this way and we can arrange to get you to the less travelled area. Also, no license required to fish the AI surf, but yearly ORV permit needed at $70 if you are just dying to drive. Also, figuring on my Delaware sand permit this year, so after June through August, I'll probably make some trips that a way.

Have Jeep will travel. :D
