I'm gonna try my luck tonight with mirrolures. I'll tell everyone how it goes.I was there 2 weeks ago and they were catching a few whiting and puffers on the piers. If the surf is not too rough this weekend, I'll probably give it a try too.
I had one get in my minnow trap i left over nite when staying at a house on the canal.... tore the mesh and bent it up, some good fish and crabs there, what fish like the eels for bait?Just something i noticed this weekend, if you guys enjoy using eels for bait, you can catch them in Davis Canal very easily. Go at night and you will catch tons of them. Kind of a pain if you are not targeting them though.
From experience, Sharks, Cobia, and Red Snapper. The latter I caught off the Carolina Princess out of Morehead back in 84. 33lber off a 12" eel and got a tournament citation for it. All for "Hey, wonder if I'll catch anything with this."what fish like the eels for bait?
Thanks, I'll give them a try sometime, great catch for sure....From experience, Sharks, Cobia, and Red Snapper.
