Hey guys, I went to South Port Pier this morning, small pin fish and a few bites.... no wind and the nats were bad, so after lunch i hit some creeks and the inner costal at the bridge with no luck. I'm going to try the Oak Island Pier tomorrow, will let you know how that goes. :fishing:

I went to the surf today after lunch, I fished at 30th street access at the West end were the old pier was many years ago and had no luck. I stopped at the Oak Island Pier and talked to them and a guy leaving, he caught some whiting, puffers and small blues.... so I'm heading there tomorrow. The surf was choppy and only saw one other guy fishing the surf.

Hey, I went yesterday to the pier, Ocean Crest Pier, caught some whiting, puffers, shark and small black drum.... fished from 8:00-11:30 and went back a few hours that evening. I saw a guy catch a 6lb. black drum and some nice whiting and lots of puffers.

Just something i noticed this weekend, if you guys enjoy using eels for bait, you can catch them in Davis Canal very easily. Go at night and you will catch tons of them. Kind of a pain if you are not targeting them though.
I had one get in my minnow trap i left over nite when staying at a house on the canal.... tore the mesh and bent it up, some good fish and crabs there, what fish like the eels for bait?
