Hi everyone I'm looking for some info on surf fishing around Emerald Isle. I've been planning a trip to the Buxton area on the outer banks but with all the damage might change my plans.I've checked out the Bogue inlet pier but want to surf fish also.Is there alot of public beach acccess & what can I expect to catch .So any advice would be appreciated Thanks again Mike

Plenty of public access if you're renting a place, but not many vixitor public parking areas. Parking off the beach is sometimes a problem. It's mostly residential: cottages and duplexes, some condos at west end and back east toward Salter Path. I believe you can get a permit to drive on the beach after a given date in the Fall, but I don't know exactly when.

Bluefish, "whiting" (kingfish or virginia mullet), flounder, spot, pompano, sharks, occasional spanish, fat alberts, other mixed stuff.
