Are you sure they weren't bonnetheads?
I'm with you here. I have been catching a lot of bonnetheads in the last 2 weeks all along NSB from the jetty down to Lot #5 @ CNS. Anywhere from 13 inches up to 20 inches.

Quite a common mistake for those not real familier with the hammerhead family of sharks.

to be honest, I don't know what kind, but I was told they are hammerheads,

they have a hammer on their head :) :)...

I would say 12-13"
OK...99 and 44/100 % sure they were bonnetheads. Head looks like a "shovel" or a "spade". Some folks say they are good eating, but I've never tried them and just throw them back.
