I have heard of Tritanium slipping ..being slick. As far as Superior goes , I have never had any problems. I like the neon fire .
I learned about the slick thing!I have heard of Tritanium slipping ..being slick. As far as Superior goes , I have never had any problems. I like the neon fire .
I bought some Suffix line on sale a few years back. I didn't have a problem with breaking, but after a day of bottom fishing the last 15 feet looked like slinky.I made the switch from braid and Trilene Big Game to Sufix line not long ago.
On a recent trip I had a couple line breaks that caused concern. One was on my pompano rod, 14lb Tritanium Plus. Had a big hit and a strong run, drag was backed way off as the rod was still spiked. Picked the rod up, didn't touch the drag, line broke somewhere above the shock knot (bimini to to no-name). Broke far back enough I noticed more empty space on the spool later.
Couple days later I let my heaver, spooled with 20lb Superior, sit too long and the sinker buried. I was applying very gradual pressure to get it to pull loose when the line broke. I was able to recover that rig at low tide, and it had a solid 30 yds of line above the shock leader.
I'm not noticing any fraying on the line on either setup, and the guides all passed the cotton test. Both spools of Sufix were purchased in the last 6 months, and the reels are stored indoors. Anyone else have issues with seeming weak spots in Sufix line?
