anyone had their spinning reel guide break while casting??? I had two stitches on my ring finger because the bail snapped during my cast and the guides completely came off from the reel resulting in two stitches and badly bruised ring finger with potential tendon damage. it also ruined my fishing trip.

Terpfan, A couple of stiches ended your fishing trip. Didn't you read the fishing rule book? At a minimum you have to have at least 1 finger amputated before you can call it a day. You are allowed to go get stiches and return, but only if the bleeding wont stop. \

What type of reels were you using? This might give me a reason to buy more high end reels to my wife... I hope your finger is okay.

Hey Axon sounds like Deja Vu to me Except we kept fishing. I wonder if Terpfan went to the same ER as you?

Get a Lawyer , File Suit against the reel MFG. And a nice letter to them about your injury would make them very happy I bet. Could get a new reel out of it.
