This is a late report but fished for 4 hours at Santa Monica pier after I couldn't find free parking at Malibu. Used my typical baits whole shrimp with heads, and some squid. No bites as expected the end section of the pier was full of seaweeds that would cover my bait so if fish can't see my bait no bites. Also used a kastmaster spoon but lost it in the weeds. It's almost summer which is good news and bad news that means less free parking for poor old me. Anyways its almost that time of year for me to start riding those charter boats again and actually catching some giant's.

Agreed. Would love to hear more reports. I was just at Santa Monica this past summer so it some what rings a bell.
