:fishing:i need help to catch my first snook every little thing from baits to locations..........thanks
First, just search "snook" on this site and you will find your answers quickly.
Here is the Executive Summary:
Baits- Live is better than dead. Pinfish, finger mullet, big shrimp or whatever is currently in the water.
Rigs- Freeline live bait with a 1/0-3/0 hook on a 20#-40# mono leader. Or fish it on a Carolina (fish-finder) rig.
Location- Find a place where water meets land or structure, i.e. beach, mangroves & flats, bridges and docks. Snook will be there. Morning, evening and nightime (around lights) are best.
Techniques- Take the bait, put it on the rig, thow it in the water where it meets land or structure. Catch snook.
You can also use artificials like Mirro-Lures and Bomber Long-A's but if you want to catch snook right away live bait is where it's at. Master that first.
