I am thinking of buying a BSW1100 10'-0" Surf Rod.
Does anyone use this rod, and if so how is the action.

Hat,
Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking that might be the case, but not having one or knowing anyone with one I couldn't know.
The older Big Water poles from Shakespear have a stiffness that
makes them vulnerable to break but man with a good real and some good filament that stiffness is good for casting.
Thanks again for the reply...
I'm spending the Holiday down here in Atlanta..gonna run to the
BassPro to see what they have....After Christmas of course.

Hey Stripa,
Tsunami or TICA good for both casting plugs and flinging live bait for surf you are looking for a 10'
good luck & happy holiday.

Ugly Stick is too soft

The rod tip is to soft for any sinkers over 4 oz.

But its a good lure caster, I actually use mine to cast lure and it won't wear me out.

Thanks guys,
I'm glad I asked before I bought.
I'm gonna look into something with a little kinetic kick,
A little less droopy.
PENN maybe.
Merry Christmas everybody.
And many fishes for a good New Year.:D

I agree the Big Water Ugly Stiks are too tip flexible.
They are hefty as well. I have a TICA and am happy
about the performance and price. Check out the
auctions on EBay or digitaldagger.com

I wound up getting a 10'-0" Power line graphite pole from Off shore Angler. It's made by the Bass Pro shops. It seems to look fairly descent, and if anything it will hold me over untill I can get something better. I also bought some spyder line.
I'd like to buy a Penn Reel that can be my main reel, or something from Garcia.
Then I'll just work from there.
I'm gonna upgrade, starting with a reel.
Thanks again guys for the tips, keep 'em coming.

I just bought a Penn SS5500 Reel for my offshore Angler rod.
I thought it would be wise to get a good reel first.
