I usually fish at minimum a 6' 6'' rod and up to a 8+footer......am I too heavy for the pier? I sawcsome using a combo that wasnt even 6' probably. Wondering if acsmaller rod would suit my daughter better, although, I preferca stiffer rod....any suggestions? Spinning reels at moment for reference.

That reads like a drunk text message. Depends on what you're fishing for. People use 13' heavers off the pier. You could use a hand line if you wanted. Not a very specific inquiry.

For bottom fishing on a pier, 6 to 7 ft rod, M to MH action, rated for 15-20 pound line is fine. If you go too light, the rod will be a wet noodle with even a 1 ounce weight.
