I just read that construction for 88 boat slip for boats up to 60' long are to start this week.
Do people think this will interfere with the spring spawning run?
I'm thinking it'll be a fish holding area when it's done. The old slips used to hold fish.
Too bad them rich buggers are going to have to look at my ugly bum when I'm fishing on the other bank.:fishing:
And to think they're paying for condo's that look out over the sewage plant treatmeant facility. And I larfed and larfed

I think the marina is destined to be on the gravel patch just down stream from the concrete platform where we normally fish. It may not affect the flow we are used to this year. It's also being built in phases. The first bit will be 40 slips, which is not all that much. I have seen the plan for the whole area and the usual fishing hole is destined to be built up, not not immediatly.

I do however speculate that the developers will come up with a way to end the 12 week spring block party that breaks out every year in such proximity to all of the hoity toity residences, and I'd bet there will be a secuity guard to keep transient fishermen off the newly constructed docks.

I do not see good things coming out of this, but it will be up to us to reinvent the wheel down there.

Usually nothing good ever comes out of waterfront development for fishermen. It's not about us, it's about who has the $$$.

I'm thinking noise and activity from the construction might stop the females form making it further up to the spawning areas.
They already don't like people fishing there. Charlotte and I were "escorted" out by the police when demolision first started, before any tresspassing signs were put up.
Hopefully, as Anna Carrows is a National park site (or whatever it is) the money men won't be able to touch it.
Still, think of the smell from the sewage plant and the river those people in those condoes will have to put up with. I can smell it from my house sometimes...

lol... this is true... i don't think i understand the logic of it all minus we all wanna look cool. actually i've found more hookups close in. we all started flippin 1/2 shads out there 30ft. i guess we'll soon have a reason to have to chuck it....
