Hello, all

I'm new to this board, though I must admit, I've been reading it for months. Always have great info, great advice, and sounds like great folks in general.

Here's my problem: Since most of my favorite piers were destroyed this past fall, I have no more excuses for not learning to get more distance on my casts. I have a 10 ft. ugly stick with a Penn powergraph reel on it. So far , it has served mostly as closet decoration because I can't cast the dang thing worth a darn. I did a search and saw old threads about a group here in Richmond that met and practiced casting (also something about baseballs?!?...) Do you guys still meet, and if you do is it open to every body, or only 'experienced' casters?

By the way, it's kind of funny...my favorite type of freshwater fishing is using ultralight gear. There is a BIG difference in casting a 1/16 ounce jig and 6 ounces of weight!

Thanks,
dtw

I would try posting this on the Distance Casting board. They could help you out greatly.
