I went out for the first time in a few months to my favorite perch spot. It's more of a kayak launch than a shore fishing spot, but my predawn arrival found lots of bait and aggressively feeding perch. I threw a rooster tail and got hookups almost every cast with keepers in the mix. Strangely enough I got a little largemouth too-my first from brackish water. There were six keepers on my stringer when the bite suddenly died at 6:30. The switch was flipped and the perch were gone!

Moved to a second spot with a slow pick of fish producing a little striper and two more keeper perch. These came on a 3" white grub on a jighead, here the spinner only produced small fish.

Nice to be back out there!
