SOUTHERN COAST

Southern District Pender, New Hanover, & Brunswick Counties
Headboats:Not many trips were run last week due to weather. Boats are reporting Vermilion snapper, triggerfish, amberjacks, along with some groupers.
CharterBoats:Gulf stream fishing is still producing wahoo's, not as many as the last two or three weeks, but the fish are big. Full/day charters are reporting good king mackerel fishing, and inshore charters are reporting gray trout and drum.

Private Boats: Boats are reporting wahoo's in the stream, king mackerel at 23 mile rock, and down south at the jungle. Gray trout fishing has been fair with best catches coming from Johns Creek and down off of the monument at Fort Fisher. Boats fishing in the inside reported drum in the bays behind Bald Head, flounder in Mason's Inlet, and a few spotted sea trout around riches and Masonboro Inlet.

Piers: Spot run is coming to and end. Not as many were reported this week, and on average the fish were smaller. Sea mullets, bluefish, and black drum were also reported as well.

Shore:Dirty water condition and rough surf made surf fishing difficult. Blues, black drum, and sea mullet are present
