Hi guys. Long time lurker, long time fisherman from central Michigan. Got introduced to beach fishing by my FIL at Kure Beach, NC a few years back. Couldn't believe how productive it was. We're heading back in a few weeks for most of October. Over the last couple years I've managed to overbuy on size and under on quality. Set me straight.

I have two Fiblink 4 piece travel rods. One 10ft one 15ft. They both have Penn battle II 8000s. One w 50lbs one w 80lbs straight powerpro. Gotta be 400 yards on there? Sigh. It's been a weird year. Mistakes were made.

So I guess I've got my shark rods lol.

What's a good third setup given these two crazysticks?

I have lots of normal Michigan freshwater rigs like a 7 ft wearing a 3000 Shimano and 20lbs braid etc.

I've been educating myself on the dangers of big braid because I'll be honest I didn't think twice about it I only run braid in the smaller diameters up here. Been reading till my eyes bleed, any tips on gear or techniques in general, or Kure specific bait or rigs I'm all ears. We had moderate success with cut mullet for pompano and little blues.

I would love to snag a shark for 5 year olds birthday lol
