Coming down around fathers day and just curious I know the point is currently closed but can you still access ramp 43/44 to get to some fishable water? On the NPS facebook page it shows those ramps are open, are just sections of the access closed?? thanks........geo

You may want to refer your question to the Park Service directly, either thru their website or the FB page. They can be real sticklers about rule enforcement. Also, make sure you have your salt water license. Two years ago, I saw NF&WS haul a man off the beach in Duck for no license and under size fish possession. There was no bargaining. He was taken to the Federal Magistrate in Manteo to pay the hefty fine. It pays to do your homework.

i really enjoy the description of ramp 27. the ramp is open but .05 miles to the south there is a full closure and .4 mile to the north a full closure, not even a half mile of usable sand. just because its open doesn't mean you can get there
